Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Equi-poised Gold Seal .... this is not the later long slender version of the equi-poise, this is more stout with slightly domed ends. The first version of the Equi-poised pens had very pointy ends, and there's a big discussion on Fountain Pen Board as to whether the change was as the result of pressure from Sheaffer over the design similarities to Balance. In any case, these two early versions are very uncommon, and were replaced by the long slender design Equi-poised design.

Nib EXTRA-FINE nib, marked "Eversharp 14k 2 Gold Seal Signature". It has a little bit of give, but no real flex or line variation. The feed is marked with an "F". Note: the left tine has a bit of a notch on the side, visible in the photos - it looks like it was used against a ruler to draw lines, and has worn away a bit. The pen still works well.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. There is light scratching and handwear on the cap and barrel. The clip has some small marks at the very top, and some plating wear along the sides. The cap bands have brassing along the edges. There is a bit of corrosion on the gold seal. The barrel has moderate marks caused by the cap lip. The lever bar has some brassing and plating wear.
