Type Vintage pen which works beautifully. This version of the #2 pen had a gold filled barrel band.
Product Name Model 0752
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, Canada - circa 1920s. The nib is marked USA.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler, restored here at PSP with a new sac.
Color Black chased hard rubber, with a 1/2" wide gold filled band high on the barrel. The clip was originally gold filled, but that layer has been polished off and it now looks silver color except for a small bit of gold left down by the ball.
Nib Cursive Italic Manifold 14k Ideal nib. As you'd expect from a manifold nib, it's firm with no flex, but the cursive italic cut on it gives you line variation from about a medium-fine to broad, with fine horizontal hairlines. (IIRC, the nib grind was done by Greg Minuskin.) Please see writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. The hard rubber has faded to a deep olive brown, and the chasing is worn away so that just the shadow of the pattern is visible in places. The cap band has quite a lot of brassing along the eddges. The clip is brassed and also has a few dots of pitting. There are marks on the barrel from capping. The barrel band has brassing on the upper and lower edges. The lever bar and housing have brassing and some dots of pitting. There are some scratches on the barrel to the right of the lever. The rest of the barrel is smooth and even. The imprints are smoothed down, but still quite readable. The model number imprint on the end of the barrel is deep and easily read.
