Color Black chased hard rubber (mostly all faded to a caramel brown except for the portion under the cap that retains the dark black color) with a 12 mark on the end of the barrel.
Nib Fine flexible gold nib is marked "Waterman's Ideal New York 2." Line variation from fine to double broad. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a slim pen with no clip or cap band that has mellowed to a consistent dark caramel color and that has great shine. The area under the cap retains the dark black coloration. The barrel chasing has been worn down smooth though some of the chasing pattern can be seen. The chasing is more visible on the cap, though it is smooth rather than raised. There are really no significant scratches or marks on the pen, though there's a nick on the end of the barrel which can be seen in the photo below. The imprint must be read with magnification -- it is quite faded.
