Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully and has an expressive nib
Product Name Model 12 PSF ("Pocket Self-Filler" aka lever filler)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman - circa 1915
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Chased black hard rubber with a wide gold plated band on the barrel and gold plated lever. No clip or ring top.
Nib FULL FLEX MEDIUM. The nib is marked Waterman's Ideal New York - The nib feels great. You'll get nice variation from medium to more than double broad, which we consider to be full flex, and might even call a wet noodle. Please don't go by what we call it though, rely on the writing sample (shown below), because every one uses a different scale of reference for flex. Good inkflow.
Condition Excellent condition. It's a little lightened in color from exposure to sunlight, which you can certainly see in the difference between the barrel where it is covered by the cap and where it's not. No cracks or chips, just a few minor scratches. There are some scratches on the surface of the nib, as can be seen in the photos. The trim is a little worn, with spots of brassing on the lever, and where brassing is just starting on the edges of the wide cap band. The chased pattern on the barrel has been a bit worn down by handwear, but the the imprints are excellent on the trim and the barrel. It's a nice looking pen and it's working amazingly.
