Product Description
Type Vintage eyedropper-filling fountain pen with a very flexible nib.
Product Name Model 13 (marked on the end of the pen barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- 1910s.
Length 5-5/16"
Filling System Eyedropper filling system. We've cleaned and tested it, it's working very well. We'll include an eyedropper kit and instructions on filling this pen.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) with two 1/4" gold filled ornamental bands on the barrel.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold nib is marked "Waterman's Ideal New York 3." Please see the writing sample below. The point looks like a fine but the writing sample shows that extra fine hairlines are possible when using the pen. Very responsive with excellent springback. Line variation extra fine to broad.
Condition Excellent condition for this very beautiful pen. The chasing on the cap and barrel are slightly worn, but still easily visible. The color of the hard rubber is slightly faded, and there's a clear difference between the color of the section and the rest of the pen. The section has scratching and there are some faint tool marks near the nib. The trim bands have spots of plating wear throughout; the chasing pattern on the bands is still quite strong. The imprints are clear. There are no cracks, dings, serious scratches, or personalization.
