Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully and has a flexible nib.
Product Name Model 14 V PSF (marked on the end of the pen barrel). The V designation was for a short pen, so the 14V model number indicates this is a short version with the same thickness and nib as the full size 14.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman - circa 1920s
Length 4-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Black chased hard rubber with nickel plated trim
Nib The nib is marked Waterman Ideal New York (we can't see the nib number but it is larger than a #2 nib). It is nicely flexible with a controlled ink flow ... and a lot of tipping material. The line varies from fine to broad or double broad. There are two small pits on the top of the right tine, but it does not affect writing. Not quite full flex, but very good flex and very smooth with excellent spring back. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with good chasing, though the color is a little olive-y in places from sun exposure. No cracks or chips. The imprints are very readable, not at all worn. There are a few nicks on the the edge of the cap, but no cracks.
This pen writes very smoothly with a good amount of flex. The filling system is working well, and should be good for years to come.
