Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen with a lovely nib.
Product Name Model 52 1/2 V (marked on the end of the pen barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA - circa 1925.
Length Just under 4-3/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with gold filled trim (the underside of the lever is marked 18kt Gold Filled) and a wide 1/2" cap band.
Nib BROAD ITALIC gold Waterman Ideal #2 nib. It's quite smooth with nice tipping material. It has a great italic cut with large broad downstrokes and thin hairline sidestrokes. On top of that it has a little flex to it which makes it feel great to write with. See out writing sample below, in which we wrote without pressure to flex it at all.
Condition Very nice condition, with most of the value in the nib. There's a crack in the cap lip, but it stops fast at the cap band, however it's a little curved so you'll have to be careful and if you post, post it lightly. The cap band is a little worn with some light scratches on it. There's some scratching on the end of the barrel where the cap has been posted, and the barrel chasing is a little more worn than it is on the cap. No chips, dings, dents, or personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
