Product Description
Type Vintage Fountain Pen
Product Name Waterman 52, as labeled on the bottom of the pen.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1920s.
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever Filler, it has been restored with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) with nickel trim.
Nib The nib is marked Waterman's Ideal New York 2. It falls between a fine and an extra fine. It is nicely flexible with a good ink flow, not quite what we'd call full flex but definitely wet and smooth. The tines spread quite easily. See the writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. No cracks or chips. The color is dark with very small amount of discoloration. The chasing is a little worn on the barrel but like new on the cap. The imprint is quite strong. In the photos the imprint looks faded but it's still relatively easy to read with the naked eye. The nickel plating looks great.
