Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen with a very flexible nib.
Product Name Model 52 (marked on the end of the pen barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA - circa 1920s.
Length 5-3/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with nickel plated trim. The chasing is worn on the barrel, where it's quite shiny and smooth.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold Waterman's Ideal New York #2 nib is smooth with great tipping material. It's almost what we would call full flex, with very easy line variaiton from fine to double broad under very little pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The hard rubber has discolored only very slightly so that it's a little more brown than it once was. There's light wear here and there on the pen so that the chasing is a little worn, and some spots of plating wear and small dots of corrosion on the trim. The end of the barrel has two spots where it looks lighter and fogged (see photos). No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization. The imprints are faded but fairly readable (see photos). It's fully restored and working well.
