Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully and has a flexible nib, with matching pencil.
Product Name Model 52 (marked on the end of the pen barrel)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in Canada -- circa 1920s. (The pen's barrel and nib are marked Canada, we can't see an imprint on the pencil.)
Length 5-5/16" (pen), 5-7/16" (pencil)
Filling System The pencil takes 1.1mm leads and works via the twist mechanism. It doesn't retract the leads and they must be pushed back in. The pen is a lever filler. The sac has been replaced and it's working well.
Color Red ripple hard rubber with gold plated trim. The feed on the fountain pen is also red ripple hard rubber so it could be original.
Nib Flexible fine 14K. The nib is marked Waterman Ideal Canada. The tines spread very easily and can be considered full flex. It goes between a fine and about a double broad. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, serious scratches or personalization. The pen has a scratch on the end, like an X in the end with the 52 mark. There is some brassing on the lever box, as well as some on the clip. The imprint is worn or polished down, but still somewhat legible. The pencil has tooth marks on the top, and some brassing on the ball of the clip.
