Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Model 52 V (marked on the end of the pen barrel), the short version of the 52.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA - circa 1920s.
Length Just a hair over 4-3/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with nickel plated trim
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Waterman's Ideal 14k nib is smooth with lovely tipping material. It's almost what we would call fully flexible, with easy line variation from fine to double broad, and even more with a little pressure. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition, near mint were it not for the fact that we had to trim the cap lip due to a chip. Because the overall color is very black and crisp, with no difference to denote where the hard rubber was not exposed to light, and so the shortened cap lip isn't very noticeable. There are just one or two of the very lightest scratches on the body of the pen, though the trim shows some basic light wear. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
