Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Model 55 (this is a good sized pen, verging on the oversized when compared with the standard sized pens of the day).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- circa 1925. The nib was made in Canada.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) cap and barrel with smooth hard rubber feed and section. It has silver colored trim that should be nickel plated. The chasing on the barrel is worn to the degree that it is barely visible, but the chasing on the cap is quite crisp.
Nib Left Oblique Waterman's #7 Canada nib. (The original nib would have been a number 5.) No flex, but nicely shaped to give your handwriting a little flair. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The cap and barrel have faded to a deep brown color. The chasing pattern on the barrel is smoothed down, though you can still see the shadows of the pattern. The imprint is also worn, and is only partly readable. The model number on the end of the barrel is clear. The cap still has the chasing visible. The cap band has some pitting about halfway around it. The clip has some scratching, and the ball end is dulled. No cracks, chips, or personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
