Product Name Model 56 (with a nib from a Waterman 55)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, circa 1925
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Black chased hard rubber with steel clip.
Nib MEDIUM FLEXIBLE Waterman's #5 nib. This nib would have originally been on a Waterman 55, and a Waterman 56 would have had a #6 nib. Please see writing sample.
Condition. Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large-sized, dark, shiny pen in a classic design. The chasing is visible but the cap and barrel are smooth. The black hard rubber has faded to a chocolate brown. The original black color can be seen on the section. There are no significant scratches on the cap or barrel. The lever has scratching, plating wear and some pitting along the edges. The clip looks quite nice with a bit of pitting around the lower nail. The barrel imprints are clear. The 56 at the end of the barrel is readable. The clip imprints are clear.
