Product Description
Type Vintage hard rubber fountain pen
Product Name Hard to find model. Waterman 754, as identified by the number at the end of the barrel. The 7 means that it has a solid gold barrel band, the 5 means it is a lever filler, and the 4 refers to the nib size.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1920s.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler. A new sac has been installed and tested. It's working well.
Color Black hard rubber (BHR) with solid 14k barrel band. The rest of the trim is gold filled, including a clip and a 5/32" The barrel band is very wide at 1/2".
Nib Medium Flexible Waterman's #4 nib. It is smooth and flexes easily. You can get nice thick lines for strong line variation. Almost full flex. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition, though we are fairly certain that the cap is a replacement in that the original 754 cap would have had a 14k clip. The black has faded evenly and the capped area of the pen is darker. The imprints are barely legible. You can make out most of the barrel imprint with careful light usage but it's almost impossible to read the end of barrel imprint. There is also a worn scratch at the end of the barrel. The trim is a little worn and has light scratches. The pen has no cracks or chips. It has a very stylized, "GK," etched just above the 14k imprint on the barrel band. It's working very well.
