Product Description
Type Vintage pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name Model 92, marked on the end of the pen's barrel.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1930s-40s
Length Both the fountain pen and mechanical pencil are 5" long.
Filling System The pen is a lever fill fountain pen with a new sac. The pencil takes 1.1mm leads, which extend and retract by twisting the front portion of the barrel.
Color Marbled green and red cap and barrel with a black section. Gold filled trim including 3/32" decorated cap band. The clip pattern is like an elongated diamond.
Nib Fine flexible Waterman's Ideal nib. It has enough give for some line variation, but it's not dramatic (variation from extra fine to medium at best). Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The fountain pen looks good. The section has faded a bit, but there are no tool marks, cracks, or chips. The barrel has some light marks from the cap lip, and light scratching. The lever and housing has some light plating wear. The cap also has light scratching. The cap band has brassing. The clip has small touches of plating wear and some brassing, especially on the ball end. The mechanical pencil also looks quite good. The black piece near the cone has a little bit of fading, though less than we see on the pen. The cone has microscratching and some small spots of plating wear. The cap and barrel have light scratching. There are some tooth marks near the end of the barrel. The center "cap" band is brassed. The clip has some plating wear on the sides, especially at the top where it attaches. The imprints on both pieces are clear and easily read.
