Product Description
Type Desk fountain pen set
Product Name Waterman Park Avenue C/F Pen Desk Set. The C/F stands for "cartridge filled."
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- 1950s.
Length The pen is 6-3/8" long, with the tail being more than 2/3 of that length. The desk base is round, just under 4-1/2" in diameter, and with the trumpet is about 2-1/2" tall. With the pen installed, the height is about 6-1/2".
Filling System Proprietary cartridge. There is one used cartridge in the box, as well as a box of 7 (!) unused (!!) cartridges in the bottom of the base. The challenge with Waterman CFs: the cartridges and converters are no longer made and inconsistently available. To use these pens, most modern day owners usually resort to refilling the cartridges with a syringe. The converters are no longer produced and are expensive and hard to find, and are NOT included.
Color Black body with silver colored trim. The base is black, likely ceramic, and the trumpet is chrome.
Nib FINE steel nib is smooth.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has light handwear and microscratching. There are scratches on the section from inserting it into the trumpet, and some scratching on the barrel and tail. The nib has some minor ink staining. The trumpet looks great, with just light wear, but no brassing or plating wear. The rest of the base also looks fantastic, no cracks or chips. The box is in surprisingly good shape, with some light wear on the lid. The original instructions are also included in the box. No personalization or major wear.
