Type Waterman Gentleman ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil set.
Product Name Gentleman Sterling Fluted. This was the top of the line for Waterman in the 1970s until the Le Man line came out.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, France -- 1974-97, the model lasted a little longer than that but those are the official years.
Length The ballpoint pen is 5-1/2", and the mechanical pencil is 5-9/16" long.
Filling System The pen takes Waterman ballpoint refills, and twisting the top half of the pen extends and retracts the tip. The mechanical pencil takes 0.5mm leads, which extend by twisting the top half of the pen. There is also a small eraser located under the cap.
Color Solid sterling silver with 23k plated trim. It has a fluted or striped pattern that runs through the section and the end pieces. Waterman called this pattern godron in the Le Man series. There are sterling hallmarks on the silver portions of both pieces.
Condition Near mint condition, in box. There are some light polishing marks on both pieces, as well as small touches of patina. No cracks, chips, dents, dings, or scratches. This is a gorgeous, elegant, nicely weighted set. The imprints are clear.
