Product Description
Type Lever fill fountain pen and mechanical pencil set, in original display box.
Product Name "Gold Corinth". This is one of our favorite of the metal capped Watermans. There's a great write-up on the Pen Hero website.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, circa 1955. (This version of the Gold Corinth appeared in 1955 ads, with this specific cap a change from the earlier Gold Corinths which had a wider band.)
Length The fountain pen is 5-3/16" long, and the pencil is 5-5/16" long.
Filling System The fountain pen is a lever filler, which we've restored and tested. It's working well, and we guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase. The mechanical pencil takes 0.9mm leads, which advance by pressing the cap downward.
Color Black barrel and section, gold-filled cap.
Nib Fine Ideal 14k flexible nib. Gives line variation from fine to broad. See our writing sample in the photos.
Condition Excellent + condition for this beautiful set. Fountain pen: The section has light scratches from capping. There is also light scratching on the barrel. The cap has some microscratching, but no visible brassing or plating wear. The cap lip is very smooth and even. The clip has some light plating wear along the sides and on the face. The lever and housing look great. Mechanical pencil: The pencil is in great shape. There is some microscratching on the cap and barrel. The clip has some touches of wear on the sides, but otherwise looks great. The mechanism is a little stiff, but is working well. The barrel imprint on the pen is deep and clear. Both pieces are contained in the original box with a really cool hinge mechanism, which allows you display the set nicely. The original instruction sheet is present under the platform.
