Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler, hard to find.
Product Name Waterman Hundred Year Pen (marked on the nib, and on the cap)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, circa 1941. This may be someting of a transitional model - it has the Lucite cap and barrel of the pre-war 2nd-year models, but the cap band of the third-year models.
Length Full size 5-1/8" (there's a fatter oversized model, but this is the standard full size pen)
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color Transparent red ribbed barrel and cap. Gold plated trim.
Nib Flexible fine gold Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. It's not full flex, but it doesn't take a lot of pressure to get line variation from extra fine to medium. See our writing sample.
Condition Excellent working condition. Light scratching on the cap and barrel. The clip has brassing and plating wear, especially around the open end and around the top edges. Cap band has tiny dots of pitting, as well as touches of brassing along the edges. The lever and housing has plating wear around the edges. The material is in good shape - clarity is great, and there's very little ambering or other color changes. The nib writes super smoothly and has good tipping material. The cap imprint is worn but readable. It is ready to write.
