Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Lady Garland Taperite fountain pen with steel cap. The barrel has a sticker on it, identifying it as an 897V, with a Medium Rigid nib.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA - circa later 1940s.
Length 4-5/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black body with a steel cap with a decorative "feathery" line pattern. Gold plated clip and cap top.
Nib Medium 14k "Taperite" nib is semi-hooded and rigid.
Condition Excellent condition. We couldn't find any evidence that the pen has been inked, but there are definite signs of age. The lever bar has plating wear. The cap has some scrapes and small dots of pitting. Light scratching on the barrel and section hood. No cracks, chips, or dents. There is a sticker still affixed to the barrel, identifying the model as 897V, the nib size as Medium Rigid, and an original price of $8.75. The clip has some brassing on the edges and a bit of pitting around the letters. The imprints are crisp and clear.
