Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler.
Product Name Lady Patricia, the smaller size of the Patrician. The two models used nearly identical materials but had different design elements.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- Early 1930s.
Length Small size -- 4-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored the filling system, and it's working well.
Color "Onyx" color. This is a cream or light caramel color with red veins. (The design doesn't match its name at all.) 1/8" cap band with a simple etched design. The trim is gold filled. The cap lip, section, and feed are a dark red hard rubber.
Nib FINE flexible Waterman Ideal nib, verging on a medium. It flexes easily, but the line variation is not dramatic. See the writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. This is a small, shiny, prettily colored pen. The main flaw is that the color is inconsistent, with lighter areas at the top and bottom of the cap and at the end of the barrel. One cap lip crack. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and light to moderate scratching with the heavier scratches toward the end of the barrel where there are a lot of little ping marks. The lever has plating wear and pitting. The cap has heavy scratching near the top with more light to moderate scratching elsewhere. The cap band has a lot of plating wear. The clip, clip ring, and the gold flat cap top have microscratching. The imprints are clear.
