Condition |
Excellent condition, with discoloration on the cap. The body and cap are free of cracks and chips. There are some light scratches, but overall it is very smooth and shiny. There's a little brassing on the edge of the clip, but otherwise the trim is excellent. Nice deep imprint. With its new sac, it is ready to write. Please note that during restoration we noticed that the previous restorer had had to shellac the sac to the end of the feed, because the nipple (part of the section) where you normally attach the sac was missing, undoubtedly broken off during some previous restoration efforts. We had some concerns about replicating this repair, our worries focusing on ink flow and the chance that ink would escape around the edges of the feed. We tested the pen and found that it works well, as the feed is firmly inserted in the section. Please see photo, where you can also see some tool marks on the section. |
