Product Description
Type Vintage mechanical pencil
Product Name Red Ripple ... In a 1925 catalog, we found what we think is this exact pencil, and they call it model 0725N, and mentions that it matches the 018 series of pens.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, unknown -- circa 1920s (there's no imprint indicating where the pencil was made)
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Takes thick style (1.1mm) leads. Lead extends in the traditional, twist mechanism, but you may have to push it with your finger to make it retract. We'll include a small pack of leads. The lead container is accessed by unscrewing the top piece.
Color Red hard rubber in the "Red Ripple" design, with gold plated trim.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a full size mechanical pencil that works well and has a fantastic color pattern. There may have been a personalization on the cap portion, but it's been largely polished away. The "cap band" (which is really more like a belly band) has light scratching and some brassing along the edges. The clip has plating wear along the sides, and some brassing around the top. The cone is brassed, and there are some small scratches near the narrow point. The imprint is clear.
