Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Unknown. Webster was a less than top tier maker, and this is one of their basic pens in a small size.
Manufacturer and Year Webster, Chicago (this was one of the National Pen companies) – circa 1920s-30s.
Length 4-7/16"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with gold plated trim and a solid 14k gold cap band.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM gold Warranted #3 nib is smooth with excellent tipping material. It's close to what we would call full flex, with variation from a small medium to a double broad under very little pressure. There's some staining/patina on the top of the nib that resisted the first pass of Simichrome, but it can probably be improved with a little more polishing. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition though there are some slight marks of wear on the barrel. There are two small nicks on the end of the barrel. The chasing pattern is fairly worn, and there's some slight cosmetic wear on the nib, but nothing that affects the way the pen works. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or any real plating wear. The imprint is worn but legible. The pen is fully restored and working very well.
There is an F engraved in the solid gold cap band (see photos).
