Product Description
Type Fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Unknown, but the nib is labeled "Williamson Janesville Wis". There are no other marks on the pen, so we really don't know who made the pen aside from the nib.
Manufacturer and Year Williamson Pen, USA -- 1920s. The Williamson Pen Co was based in Janesville WI.
Length 4-1/2" and slender.
Filling System Eye dropper filled. Tested and working well. We will include instructions on using the filling system, as well as an eye dropper kit that includes silicone grease and a pipette.
Color Black hard rubber with a gold filled filigree overlay.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM Williamson nib is smooth with nice tipping material. It's got decent flex and produced line variation from medium to double broad, see writing sample below. NOTE: there is a crack in the nib. It's in the middle, it goes thru the first "E" in Janesville, and is nowhere near an edge or the nib slit.
Condition Excellent condition. There is light scratching and handwear on the cap and barrel. The section has scratches from the cap lip. The overlay has microscratching all over, and somewhat odd scratches throughout. They almost look deliberate, as if someone tried to add decorative flourishes around the filigree, but they're also rough and not well executed. The edges of the filigree cutouts are rough and have some snags. The top of the cap has brassing. The hard rubber has faded very slightly, but is still nice and dark. The only imprint we see is on the nib, which is clear. We've fully restored and tested the pen and it's working well.
